Donald Trump impersonator had to turn phone off after election win: ‘It hasn’t stopped ringing’

The impersonator-in-chief is holding his calls.

Mike Osman, 65, has acted as an impersonator of Donald Trump for nearly nine years — but since the former president’s win on Nov. 5, the actor hasn’t been able to book new gigs.

Even after Trump, 78, left the White House in 2021 the grandfather was still “consistently working” as his double — but now his phone is off the hook.

“Thank you Donald for giving me another four years of the best job in the world,” Osman, of Southampton, UK, told What’s The Jam. “I’ve had to switch my phone off, it hasn’t stopped ringing.”

Osman, who is regarded as the best Trump impersonator in the UK, shared that he was awake watching the election results come in, and within an hour he already had five new job offers.

“There was no doubt in my mind that Trump was going to win, everyone claims to hate him but I know that the world loves him,” he said.

When he dresses up to play Trump’s double, he gets decked out in a nearly $3,500 (£2,700) wig and body fat suit then finishes up with an orange flow to his face. Osman has also mastered the Trump voice.

He’s appeared on TV shows such as Channel 4’s The Last Leg in the UK and does corporate gigs, as well as personalized videos available to purchase.

Osman believes that Trump has probably seen his work, saying that “he’s the type of guy to look into what’s being said about him online.”

He added that Nigel Farage, a British politician and Member of Parliament (MP), has seen him perform “a few times” before, adding, “I reckon he must’ve told Trump about it.”

Osman also believes that he’s gotten a call from the president-elect before.

“I’m sure I got a call from Donald Trump late one night — it was a Washington number,” he said. “I tried to call back in the morning but it didn’t pick up, I have a feeling it was him on the line.”

On top of endless phone calls, Osman has been getting lots of congratulations as well.

“People have been congratulating me like I’m actually the new President. When I’ve been out and about in public as Trump people have flocked to me for pictures – it’s like being Mickey Mouse in Disney World sometimes,” he shared.

“I’ve even been asked to leave a pub by a regular who thought I was the man himself,” Osman said. “I’m so chuffed that he’s got back in, it’s the best work I’ve ever done — it’s been an absolute joy.”
