Mars—a planet of strength, drive and firepower—is very close to Earth. This means we feel his energy very significantly at all times. Whenever he soars through a zodiac sign, we experience a collective focus around these themes. We feel more energy and enthusiasm when Mars is “awake” or direct in the sky. Let’s just be honest. Mars retrograde isn’t fun. We tend to feel exhausted and like we’re moving through sludge and cannot get anything done. Delays, obstacles and challenges pop up at every turn as everything around us loses steam. We often feel extra triggered and very frustrated about everything that is happening. This is not the ideal time to start anything new—it will inevitably fail. This means not making any major decisions, like starting a new job, opening the doors to a business or releasing a major project. The same is to be said for relationships—do not “go official,” get engaged or become married.
