One sauced England soccer fan wasn’t using her head Tuesday when she ordered McDonald’s following her country’s 3-0 World Cup win over Wales. She netted 160 nuggets instead of 20.
“I think I must have been trying to add sweet and sour sauce, but instead was adding extra nuggets,” the unnamed enthusiast told the Daily Mail. “A least it meant today’s breakfast and lunch are sorted.”
The super supporter was shocked to see her McDonald’s bill ring in over $70 for a measly 20 nuggets, an error she made after her booze cup runneth over Tuesday.
“I remember thinking the bag was very heavy, then when I opened it, it was just box after box after box of chicken nuggets,” she added.
England fans got a kick out of watching their team triumph over Wales in Qatar, where they came out on top of their group for the first time since 2006.
The winning team has already tied United States 0-0 and defeated Iran 6-2 in this year’s World Cup. Following this exhilarating victory, England advances to the round of 16, playing the next match against Senegal on Sunday.
During Tuesday’s game, one English player caught the crowd’s attention. Marcus Rashford knelt on the turf and pointed towards the sky after his first goal, later revealing he was honoring his late friend.
“Unfortunately I lost one of my friends a couple of days ago,” Rashford explained. “He’s had quite a long battle with cancer so I’m pleased that I managed to score for him. He’s always been a big supporter of mine, he was just a great person that I’m pleased to have come into my life really.”
England’s success came the same day as a blowout game between US and Iran, which landed American player Christian Pulisic in the hospital. He paid the price of winning — the US will advance to the next knockout round after the 1-0 victory, playing the Netherlands on Saturday.
On Wednesday, Australia plays Denmark, Tunisia faces France, Poland contends with Argentina and Mexico goes head-to-head with Saudi Arabia.
