I had a fake heart implanted into my hand — extreme body modification is my passion

The way to her heart is through her hand.

A woman from suburban Houston had a silicone heart embedded in her left hand to add to her unique look.

Orylan, 24, had already had her tongue split, her eyes tattooed and most of her skin inked when she made the spontaneous decision to get the implant at a tattooing convention she visited earlier this year — a procedure that required an incision and the draining of blood.

The mononymous body modifier, who also sports rainbow hair, shaven teeth, tooth gems and gauges, paid $500 for the practically permanent implant — and didn’t immediately fall in love with the latest addition to her bizarre look.

“When I got it done, I didn’t like it,” she admitted to Caters News. “I didn’t like the way it looked. It just looked really weird and just boring. And I was like, ‘Oh my God, what did I just do?’”

But a few days later, the tattoo artist came around and found room in her actual heart for the implant.

“It took just a few days to like it. Once it was settled in my hand, and I finally got to take all my bandages off. I was just like, ‘Okay, I like this. It’s not crazy,’” she said.

“It’s not like I got horns implanted into my head or anything. I think it’s one of the lower-end modifications that I’ve gotten. So, it wasn’t really a big deal to me.”

And it’s a good thing that Orylan has come to love her modification, because she’s not sure it could be removed.

“I can’t see how you would be able to take this out because my veins go on top of it. When it’s very dehydrated, you can see my veins and stuff inside of it. So, I don’t know how anyone would get this out. So, I would say it is all very permanent,” she explained.

“It sounds really brutal, but I didn’t feel it at all.”

Orylan hopes her modifications inspire others to follow their heart and get whatever they want done.

“I just want to make a really positive outcome on the body modification and tattooing community because it just has such a negative outlook and it doesn’t have to be that way,” she said.

Although Orylan may scare some and has made some impulsive decisions, she shared that she’s yet to regret any of her tattoos or modifications.

“I really don’t have any regrets about anything I do, and people would think you’ll regret that one day, but I’ve always thought I would be heavily modified even since I was like a kid. I was always fascinated by it,” she said.

“I chop it up to the most cliché thing in the world, which is the heaviest truth. I believe life is short, so do what you want.”
