Jerk DoorDash customer sparks outrage with insulting request for driver: ‘I shouldn’t be punished for refusing’

It’s not called DoorDance.

A DoorDash driver felt insulted and degraded after an entitled customer requested that they dance for an extra gratuity, as detailed in a viral Reddit post.

The 30-year-old courier, who posts under the handle OnyxLeigion_, explained that they’d received their “first ever 1-star rating” after dropping off an order of McDonald’s to an undisclosed customer.

They attributed the low rating to the fact that they refused to acquiesce to the patron’s humiliating demand.

“Very sure it’s from this because the only things they marked were friendliness and not following instructions,” the courier wrote in the caption, alluding to a screenshot they shared of the order.

In it, the unnamed — but apparently youthful — customer asked for the customer to leave the food at the door and — wait for it — “do the Macarena for 10 seconds for [an] extra $3 tip.”

The delivery person declined, deciding that, unlike an exotic dancer, they would not be shaking it for extra cash.

“You can, in fact, keep your 3 dollars,” they wrote in the caption. “I don’t need to be recorded and posted on the internet for 3 dollars.”

They added, “We really need to be able to dispute ratings, it’s not my job to dance for children’s amusement and I shouldn’t be punished for refusing.”

Responding to a commenter’s query, the courier said that the kids messaged them following their refusal, claiming that they would’ve given an “extra” gratuity.

“I responded that I didn’t need to be put on TikTok for 3 dollars and there was no response,” scoffed the driver, adding that the little hellions even ran to the window and “threw a fit” when they didn’t capitulate.

Ultimately, the DoorDasher believes that the “adult who was encouraging this behavior is the one who messaged me” and even believe they planned to record their dance and post it for internet clout.

“They had their phones in their hands,” they said. “Definitely looked like they were trying to do the whole ‘I’m just casually holding my phone and it just happens to be pointing at you’ thing.”

Reddit commenters sided with the driver against the little cretins.

“$3 bucks to be all over some kids TikTok and snap story I’d pass too,” said one, while another wrote, “Jesus, literally ‘dance poor person, dance!’”

“These people think just because they have money they own people,” lamented a third.

One critic claimed,” Yea f–k $3……. But for $20 I might reconsider.”

The courier replied, “I thought about messaging and telling them to add a zero.”

Another alleged service worker shared a similar story of being asked to degrade themself for an assumed gratuity.

“I worked for dominos and someone asked me to draw a dog on the inside of the pizza box,” they recalled. “I did, thinking I’d get a tip but nah. No tip.”
