We’re waiting until marriage to make out — but we’ve hooked up with other people before

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes…making out?

Rebekah Hurford, 31, and her partner, Kirk Peter, 32, plan to get married one day — but they’ve never shared a passionate kiss and are waiting to say “I do” before locking lips.

When the Christian couple first began dating, they decided to challenge themselves and agreed not to get more intimate than a hug or quick peck. They also made a pact to never sleep at the same place.

Although the pair live in different states, Peter returns home every time they spend time together.

Peter has to be back in the city every day at 6 a.m. and Hurford has a couch, but he still drives all the way back to Connecticut each time they hang out.

“When your boyfriend shows you how much he loves you by going home every night instead of sleeping over — even though he drives 1.5 hours from Connecticut to NYC,” Hurford posted on Instagram.

“In a world where sleeping over is normal, and sex is how you test out a relationship before you commit — my boyfriend and I chose the opposite,” she explained in her caption.

They’ve both “hooked up” and had “sleepovers” in previous relationships but said that it led to “broken trust” and “a lot of wounds.”

“This time we chose high standards — some that many would think were crazy or even unnecessary,” Hurford said.

And the high standards seem to be working for the religious duo.

“The result of strong boundaries and saving ourselves until marriage has been the most joyful and stress-free relationship of my 31 years,” Hurford shared, adding that the couple’s strict rule has been the “best decision” for their loving relationship.

“Don’t compromise in dating ladies, the man who will honor you is out there,” she insisted.

While waiting until marriage to make out may seem extreme to some, a growing number of adults in America are remaining virgins or “resetting their virginity.”
