DrinkTok took some whisky chances with drink creations this year.
It seems as though there’s a bizarre new drink creation going viral on TikTok every week, many of which come with a disclaimer, like, “Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds.”
Gen Z particularly made one ingredient the life of the cocktail party: the pickle.
The younger generation has recently become obsessed with the deli favorite, consuming it in any way they can and even making it “part of their personality” in the same way millennials made avocados a cultural phenomenon.
A self-proclaimed “pickle b-tch,” Charley Thomas, 25, from Boulder, Colorado, previously told The Post, “I think people made it part of their personalities because the flavor is kinda polarizing without actually being important and people like to feel edgy but don’t want to risk being ostracized.”
And since there’s never a dill moment on TikTok — people incorporated pickles into almost every drink you could think of.
Millennials might have already been drinking picklebacks, but the younger generation relished in their own cultural phenomenon and took it to a new level.
In line with the Martini moment, Pickletinis became a staple on DrinkTok, with 3 million views on the tag. But it didn’t stop there. Drink connoisseurs made Pickle Spritzes, Pickle Margaritas, Vodka Pickle-Infused Shots and a Pickle Bloody Mary.
TikTokkers got into the spirit with other drink creations as well — without pickles.
For example, the famed espresso martini, the hot girls’ drink of choice, was given an update – a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Thus creating the viral parmesan espresso martini.
Drake even started a trend, with the rapper telling his fans to make themselves an “Onda Civic” — a can of Onda poured over a glass of ice and fresh passionfruit added in.
One user called her creation the “drink of the summer.” The Aperol Spritz with a Twist is a scoop of orange sherbet, Prosecco, Aperol and orange Poppi, which is apparently “the best part” and “a must.”
Other hot contenders included the Mountain Suze (Mountain Dew + Suze), the Hugo Spritz and the Blueberry Jam Gin Spritz.
Ice also had a moment — people are loving tiny ice cubes and ice in different shapes. The tag #tinyicecubes has garnered 8 million views, while #icemolds has 101.7 million views.
These cocktails might not sound so appealing, but they could be worth a shot!
