Previously banned Wendy’s burger of Jurassic proportions returns — daring customers to eat 9 patties in 9 minutes

It’s a carnivore’s dream — though some might call it a nightmare.

Wendy’s long-banned T-rex Burger — a 3,000-calorie, nearly $30 item that includes nine beef patties and nine slices of cheese — is back for a limited time at one franchise in Edmond, Oklahoma (as of now).

While there wasn’t a grand announcement of any kind, a sign that reads “Think you can take down the T-rex? Prove it,” on the restaurant’s window made its way to Reddit, spurring a flurry of reactions that ranged from repulsion to respect.

“What is the special prize? A heart attack?” asked one incredulous commenter.

“The “special prize” is constipation,” joked another.

More curious users pointed out that the meat-eater meal was somewhat of a bargain and has an enticing amount of protein.

“30 bucks for 9 patties is a solid deal,” one user said.

“As someone who likes to eat [and] goes to the gym, I’d eat this,” added another. “Just the sheer amount of protein.”

An employee of the Oklahoma restaurant told Fox News Digital that the promo went into effect on September 10 and would eventually run at restaurants across the state.

Though he did not specify what the prize for finishing the burger in under 10 minutes is, he hinted that it would include a voucher for a free meal.

He also clarified that customers who dare to partake in the carnivorous challenge do not have to finish the accompanying drink and fries to win.

Supposedly, this meat-lovers burger started as a joke when Sports Illustrated supposedly ran a gimmicky advertisement for an oversized Wendy’s sandwich. The ad resulted in hungry readers requesting the burger when visiting a Wendy’s.

A Wendy’s in the Canadian city of Brandon, Manitoba, started offering it before corporate put an end to it, according to Eater.

But that doesn’t mean customers have totally quieted their craving for the meat dish.

Diners desperate to try the item have found a way to recreate it for Wendy’s unofficial secret menu, according to social media. The trick is to order a David’s Triple and customize it, topping it with six additional beef patties.
