Shuck be a lady tonight.
A Texas woman became the envy of couples everywhere after finding a pearl in her oyster during a romantic dinner. A clip of the fortuitous find currently boasts over 770,000 views on the awestruck woman’s TikTok page.
“We’re eating oysters and a pearl came out,” Kenia Mac told Jam Press for her aquatic lottery win, which occurred while she and beau Juan Manuel were enjoying a couple’s night at a seafood restaurant in their hometown of Dallas.
Just when their evening couldn’t get more perfect, the nail technician discovered a shiny object in their order of oysters. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was a pearl, which had been sitting inside one of the mollusks like a prehistoric ring box.
Accompanying footage shows Mac holding the tiny white bauble in her hand while marveling at her good fortune.
“It’s tiny, tiny, but it’s a pearl,” exclaimed the lucky lady, who originally hails from Mexico.
Viewers couldn’t believe Mac’s discovery.
“Those are legit pearls,” exclaimed one commenter. “If it’s true that it came out, because they are very expensive.”
“You came out the winner,” commented another, while a third quipped. “The bill has already been paid.”
“The waitress 5 minutes before handing over the plate: ‘Where did the pearls on my bracelet go?’” joked another.
Mac has yet to get the marine gem appraised, however it could potentially fetch up to thousands of dollars, per the Pearl Source website.
The odds of finding a pearl in an edible bivalve is extremely rare: only one in 10,000 oysters harbor these oceanic treasures.
Mac isn’t the first to potentially feast her way to fortune.
Last year, a New Jersey couple won the shell game of the century after finding a pearl possibly worth thousands in a restaurant clam.
