I lost 100 pounds eating these ‘lazy girl’ meals — I do not feel deprived

Is ‘lazy girl’ the new ‘it girl’?

The idle archetype has been all the rage this summer, with ‘lazy girl’ lunches and ‘lazy girl’ pilates workouts gaining extreme internet popularity.

Amy, a wife, mother and school teacher, has been documenting her weight loss journey on TikTok and claims that low-effort meals have been crucial in helping her lose 100 pounds.

The content creator, who goes by @nourishandthriveamy, posted a video of everything she ate in a day that has over half a million views.

“I lost 100 pounds (I went from 235 pounds to 135 pounds) and here’s what I eat in a day,” she wrote in the caption of her TikTok before sharing the simple meals with viewers.

For breakfast, she showed herself eating a bowl of Greek yogurt mixed with shredded wheat, half an ounce of chia seeds, half an ounce of pecans as protein and 6 ounces of fruit.

Next, for lunch, she shared a photo of a hearty, pre-prepared salad that consisted of leafy greens, tomatoes, a glob of hummus as protein and mix of olives as fat.

Finally, for dinner, Amy enjoyed a big bowl of stir-fried rice and seasoned scrambled eggs with tomatoes on the side.

At the end of the video, she happily stated: “I love the way I eat because even though it’s no sugar, no flour, I do not feel deprived.”

Another asked Amy how she learned to eat such simple, whole foods, to which Amy responded: “Bright line eating! I started with the book for the first few years and then joined the membership in 2021 … so worth it!”

Another minimal-effort meal that Amy endorses requires only three ingredients — 6 ounces of lentils, 7 ounces of pico de gallo and 1 ounce of feta cheese.

She recommends pre-mixing the ingredients and storing the dip in a fridge to enjoy with cut-up celery at another time.

Amy also advocates for drinking black coffee and claims that switching to flavored pods helped her transition from heavily using creamers.
